On September 9, 2022, Intel broke ground on a semiconductor plant in Licking County, 30 minutes northeast of downtown Columbus in the suburb of New Albany. This marks the largest single private-sector investment in Ohio history, and is expected to create thousands of jobs in Ohio, and escalate property values in the surrounding areas.
