Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Platinum Realty Group is growing!
Welcome Magaly Isabel Linares de McCahon (Magaly Linares) to the team!
Magaly relocated from her home country of Panama to the United States in 2011 and has resided in Pennsylvania, and now Ohio. She has a Doctorate Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Guadalajara in Mexico, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from ULACIT in Panama, a Master’s Degree in Public Health from The Ohio State University, and completed coursework for her real estate license at Hondros College.
She has a colorful and diverse career history which includes working as an independent veterinarian, as Administrator and then Executive Director of The Peregrine Fund – Panama, where she worked to conserve birds of prey (raptors) in Panama and the Caribbean, and as Flock Services Manager at Trillium Farms in Johnstown, Ohio. Her most recent position was with the Ohio Department of Agriculture, where she oversaw compliance with meat and poultry regulation as an Inspection Administrator. Since 2016, Magaly has volunteered as a Disaster Action Team (DAT) Responder and Caseworker for the American Red Cross, assisting clients after house fires or natural disasters. When living in Panama, she served on the K-SAR (K-9 Search and Rescue) unit that uses dogs to find people buried under debris after natural disasters like fires and mud slides.
When Magaly relocated to Columbus to complete her master’s degree, she noticed the bubbling real estate activity in the city and saw it as an opportunity to connect with the community and interact with the many different cultures Columbus has to offer. She looks forward to linking people, cultures, languages (Spanish and English), and helping her clients find comfy places to live or do business.
Magaly now resides in Pickerington with her husband Kris, son David, and beloved dogs Nigel and Pia. Her interests include dogs, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, bicycling, traveling, eating exotic foods, and spending time with her family. Last but not least, she is passionate about advocating for, and educating people on matters related to veterinary public health, food safety, epidemiology, outbreak investigation, zoonotic diseases, and infection preventative measures.
