A History of Helping Others
Roberta Melvin started her real estate career in 1979 as a means to fulfill her life’s purpose of helping others. In 1994, her son Jerry earned his real estate license and in 1996, along with his wife Debbie, joined forces with Roberta to start an independent real estate company, The Real Estate People.
In 2004, The Real Estate People became a franchise of Prudential Real Estate. In 2014, the brokerage was part of a select group of firms to be vetted, interviewed, and selected by special invitation to join Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Platinum Realty Group is a network brand of HSF Affiliates LLC, which is owned by HomeServices of America, Inc.TM, a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate.
Since then, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Platinum Realty Group has grown dramatically. Its team of agents is expanding rapidly as a result of its respectful, people-first culture, backed by the resources and sustainability afforded by being part of one of the most respected brands in the world.
